The 2027 edition of the summer school on Multibody Dynamics will have a companion event: the ECCOMAS 2027 international conference on Multibody Dynamics, in Milano.
The partecipation to both events is optional. People interested in the conference do not need to enroll the summer school, and viceversa students interested in the summer school do not need to register also to the conference. However, we estimate that some young researchers might interested in both events, so we managed to organize them in the same period, one week after the other.

Topics
The workshop is mainly intended for Ph.D. students in engineering but it is open to industry researchers and enthusiasts. A basic knowledge of mechanics, programming and numerical methods is expected. Previous editions created a stimulating international context, with students coming from many countries.
- Basic theory
- Dynamics and kinematics
- Numerical methods for time integration
- Flexible multibody and finite elements
- Contacts, collisions, and non-smooth problems
- Control, robotics, cosimulation
- Optimization
- Software development
- aerospace
- automotive
- biomechanics
- trains, railways
- artificial intelligence and deep learning
- virtual reality and videogames
- robotics, etc.

Program
The Workshop provides for the recognition of 5 ECTS.
The workshop provides four days of lectures and tutorials/hands-on sessions. Half day will be dedicated to a mini-conference, where attendees will have the opportunity to showcase their research with short presentations.
Lessons will be articulated in open lectures, teamwork and hands-on sessions. Various experts from Italy and abroad will be invited to give lectures on topics revolving around multibody system dynamics at large.
A detailed program will be available later. Look at past editions for examples
Venue
The workshop will be held at the Campus of the University of Parma, Italy. The building with the room for lessons and lunches is Centro S.Elisabetta, in the middle of the Campus, and it can be reachied by buses from Parma downtown.
